Helping Orange County Families Connect
All Together to End Family Homelessness in Orange County, commonly known as A2 Family Cohort was created in 2014 to collaborate in a shared vision to end family homelessness. We believe we can end family homelessness in Orange County by providing appropriate housing interventions to meet each family’s needs.
The A2 Family Cohort is comprised of the following organizations: American Family Housing, Families Forward, Family Assistance Ministries, Mercy House, Pathways of Hope, and South County Outreach. Since its start, the A2 Cohort has added partners such as Serving People In Need and Collette’s Children’s Home to align our efforts and end family homelessness.
Through the combined effort of the County of Orange, 211OC and the A2 Family Cohort, Homeless Families Count! has been created to conduct a time specific effort to reach, identify, and assess Orange County homeless families.
Upon completing Homeless Families Count! we believe it will accomplish:
knowing each homeless family by name within a specific time frame
gathering in depth assessments of homeless family needs within a coordinated system
better understanding the housing interventions and supportive services needed to reduce the time each family experiences homelessness
a collection of data to find more equitable distribution of resources to meet the needs of different populations within family homelessness
ultimately ending family homelessness
